Box Elder Credit Union is proud to recognize extraordinary individuals and organizations in our community whose service and selfless giving makes a positive difference.

Do you know a Community Giver?
Do you know an individual or organization who inspires you? If so, we want to hear from you! Box Elder Credit Union is accepting nominations for the Box Elder Credit Union Community Giver Award which is awarded twice a year. Nominations are accepted on an ongoing basis.

The recipient of the Box Elder Credit Union Community Giver Award will receive recognition for their extraordinary service to the community and $500 from Box Elder Credit Union to use towards the charity or community service of their choice.

Any person of any age who lives in Box Elder County is eligible.

Kacye Miller - Willard

Awarded April 13, 2015

When Kacye, a 10-year-old Willard girl found out her grandma was making kits for children at St. Anne's Homeless Shelter, she wanted to do something to help, so she started sewing dolls on a sewing machine she asked for at Christmas. Kayce said she hopes to make around 50 dolls to put in the kids.

Daisy Kent - Garland
Awarded April 13, 2015

Daisy is a community giver in every sense of the word. Daisy makes and donates at least 50 quilts a year using her own money, time and skills to those in needs. This alone would keep anyone busy, but Daisy makes the time to help and volunteer in several other areas as well. Most would never know all that Daisy does to give to our community, but luckily her daughter Brenda let us know by nominating her mother for the award.

Box Elder Community Garden

Box Elder Community Garden was established to provide a place for people in Box Elder County who do not have a space of their own to plant and grow their own food while also promoting charitable giving by providing excess bounty to the local food pantry and/or others in need. A 20 ft x 4 ft wide growing space can be rented for as little as $10 for the season.

Box Elder High School BEE BUDDIES Service Club
Awarded April 14, 2014

The BEE BUDDIES program is a service club at Box Elder High School devoted to supporting the school’s more than 160 special education and special need students in socializing and extracurricular activities. The highlight of the year is when BEE BUDDIES helps escort the students to the prom and events leading up to the prom.

Amber Rust - Photographer for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep
Awarded November, 2013

Amber is a professional potographer who volunteers her talent and services to families within our community. As a volunteer with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, Amber provides the gift of remembrance photography for parents suffering the loss of a baby. Box Elder Credit Union is proud to recognize the Amber Rust with the most recent Community Giver Award.

Sean Horsley - Box Elder County Suicide Prevention Coalition
Awarded April, 2013

As a social worker in the community, Sean helped create the Box Elder County Suicide Prevention Coalition to address the alarming high suicide rates in our community. One of the goals of the coalition is to raise community awareness of this issue and to decrease suicide rates in Box Elder County. Sean also offers a grief support group at no cost to help those who have lost loved ones. Box Elder Credit Union is proud to recognize Sean Horsley with the Community Giver Award for his dedication, service and selfless giving, which have made a positive difference in Box Elder County.

Garland Public Library - Danielle Rasmussen
Awarded April, 2013

The Garland Public Library has been serving the city of Garland area for almost 100 years! Along with providing books for learning and enjoyment the Library also provides activities and programming to the community in a safe and healthy environment and a fun summer reading program among other things. Box Elder Credit Union is proud to recognize the Garland Public Library with the Community Giver Award.
